    Three great things about Sussex

    South Downs National Park

The area is best explored via the South Downs Way National Trail, which weaves through the park. The Trail passes incredible sights, such as the Seven Sisters cliffs, which Harry Potter fans will have spotted in The Goblet of Fire movie.

    Frequently asked questions

Sussex is home to the second-oldest aquarium in the world. Brighton’s Sea Life Centre has stood in one form or another since 1872 and hosts over 5,000 different species of sea creatures within its walls.

Sticking with the vintage theme, Sussex also hosts the world’s oldest purpose-built cinema. The Duke of York’s Picture House opened 1910 and was and still is housed in a building previously owned by Amber Ale Brewery.

Sussex was the site of the famous 1066 Battle of Hastings, a decisive moment not only in terms of the war between the Normans and Anglo-Saxons but also for England as a whole. Its significance is recognised in the town of Battle, which has become a centre of historic tourism.

Sussex is full of stellar seaside towns, with the city of Brighton as the centrepiece of coastal life. Many other gems dot the Sussex coastline, so you’re never too far from a whole host of family-friendly experiences.

Sussex enjoys some of the best weather in Britain. Its position on the south coast makes it one of the UK’s driest places so there’s more time to enjoy the great outdoors than in most other places.

Sussex has to be one of the best connected yet serene places you can escape to. Its position close to large towns makes it incredibly accessible, whilst it retains a quiet charming character throughout.

Our two Sussex parks are perfectly positioned to create family memories that last a lifetime. Combe Haven Holiday Park is in the sleepy town of St Leonards-on-Sea, itself just a stone’s throw from historic Hastings. To the west, Church Farm is a in a quiet area near Pagham, close to the coast and neighbours with some lovely lakes to add to its peaceful nature. In the middle of these two holiday park gems is Brighton, a one-of-a-kind cultural hub on the south coast.
