Three great things about Somerset
Natural beauty
A largely rural county, Somerset is home to several Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Pack your walking boots and explore the Quantock Hills and Mendip Hills – home to Cheddar Gorge.
Heaps of history
Somerset is home to over 10,000 listed buildings and around 500 ancient monuments. We recommend a visit to the 14th-century Nunney Castle or the famous Roman Baths in Bath.
Lovely local produce
Somerset is one of the largest cider-making counties in the UK, which is as good a reason as any to try out the local brew. It’s also famous for cheddar cheese, which was first made here, centuries ago.
A trip to Cheddar Gorge with its dramatic 450-foot limestone cliffs and stunning stalactite caverns is a must-do while in the region. And a visit to the charming seaside towns of Burnham-on-Sea, Brean and Minehead will add a touch of nostalgia to any Somerset break.

What our team and owners love about Somerset
Off park, if you have tots with you and even if you don’t, you need to visit Doniford Farm. It’s just down the road and has lots of animals to see and the cutest little cafe where you can grab some lunch.
Definitely explore all the local walks we have. There are so many that you can access from the park, including walking to Williton over the fields and walking to Watchet along the beach. There’s a few dog friendly pubs in Williton too including the Mason’s Arms and the Railway Inn.
If you’re heading off park, I would suggest a walk to St Audries Bay Waterfall. It’s only a 15/20 minute walk along the beach and is absolutely beautiful.
