10 great activities to try when it's raining

Who says you have to be on the beach to play with sand?! These two creative sessions bring the seaside indoors for fun-filled activities. In Sand Bottle Creations, you’ll use layers of different coloured sand to fill up your bottle in the prettiest form possible before decorating the bottle to take home as a souvenir or to give as a gift. We also have a Sand Art session, in which you’ll sprinkle colourful sand to create your A4 masterpiece.

Creating your own cuddly creature to love and cherish is bound to put a smile on your face on even the rainiest of days. In Make a Bear, you’ll choose your preferred soft toy shell, before adding cuddly filling, a little heart, and designing your new friend’s t-shirt. Or you can join our Make a Bear Party, where you’ll find Seaside Squad plushies to make while joining in with songs and dances led by a Seaside Squad friend and our entertainment team.

Part of our Pottery Creations activities. Mould a fun party animal using funky foam clay in a range of vibrant colours. From super snails to lovely llamas or even the occasional octopus – you can use your imagination to bring your preferred animal to life, and take them home forever at the end of the session.

Part of our Pottery Creations activities. Turn precious memories into treasured keepsakes in Precious Prints. You can capture the kids’ footprints or handprints on a ceramic mug or plate and use paints to finalise your designs. You can even upgrade to other items during the session for a fee if you wish.

Always a popular holiday activity, this session will teach the basics in using a bow and arrow to hit a target. You’ll have a would-be Robin Hood on your hands in no time!

• Archery Coaching: paid-for activity, 6 years+

Get stuck in and create your own gooey creations in this interactive activity. Our instructor will show you how to make the slimiest slime, which kids can then decorate as they wish with glitter and sparkles or even bugs, before taking it home with them.

New to Haven’s activity line up, Activitots combines a range of sports with fun songs and learning opportunities for little ones. Led by our activity instructors, you can choose from Balance and Coordination Skills, Ball Sports or Bat and Ball Sports, with parents on-hand to help guide their tots during the class.

The rain doesn’t need to stop you having a water adventure! Our activity instructors will kit youngsters out as they spin the handles to operate these mini boats in one of our lovely, warm indoor pools.

Abracadabra! While we can't give you a spell to send the rain away, we can teach you a few new tricks. Head to the entertainment venue to experience a touch of magic, with a fantastic kit to take home with you.

Whether you’re a complete beginner or a skating superstar, everyone’s welcome at the Roller Disco! You’ll be showing off your groovy moves as the disco gets underway, complete with bright lights and funky music.
