Five reasons to buy a static caravan in Cornwall
Cornwall never takes too long to spring up in a conversation about the British coast, and that’s in no small part down to its unique set of features that keep visitors coming back year after year.
Cornwall always hits the headlines for its popularity in peak season, and we can think of no better place where the benefits of owning a second home are greater than in this gem in the South West of England. Say buy to booking a place every time you want to get away and hello to a home that’s yours to return to as and when you please.
Before we take you through five reasons to buy a new or used static caravan in Cornwall, let’s see what our Cornwall owners love about life at Haven:
Julie Clarke says: ‘’We have the freedom to come when we want and enjoy the relaxing atmosphere. We love being able to take the dogs into the Coast Bar and the Surf Bay and not having to leave them at home.’’
1. A permanent place in Britain’s most popular holiday destination
Cornwall has always been a key focus of ours and we’ve got two magnificent members of the Haven family in this South West gem, both located on the county’s scenic north coast.
The aptly named Perran Sands is a stone’s throw north of Perranporth, a scenic Cornish village that’s the perfect place for a second home away from the hustle and bustle. Head further west and you’ll find the world-famous Carbis Bay area, which is also only a 10-minute drive from our Riviere Sands park for holidaymakers.
2. Adventure and amenities on your doorstep
Perranporth is a typical Cornish village full of boutique shops and businesses that are the staple of the local community. You’ll be walking distance from all of these amenities at Perran Sands!

3. Join the Cornish community
Cornwall is renowned for its sense of community, and by buying a caravan to call your own, you’ll be making friends in no time. There are so many ways to get to know others, all whilst adding to your lifestyle at your second home.
Places like the Nook Wellbeing and Creative Space in Perranporth host yoga sessions for locals, and as one of the UK’s premier surfing destinations, the town really is a place to learn your craft on the board. There are loads of lessons and sessions to get involved in. Perranporth Golf Club is quite literally the neighbour of Perran Sands, so it’s the ideal place to bring your clubs along to and play a round of the course with your family and friends.
4. A beautiful coastline on both sides of the county
The scenery around Perranporth is some of the finest you’ll find in Britain, and the best way to unlock it is with a stroll along the South West Coastal Path. The enchanting Gravel Hill Mine to the north of Ligger Bay is a great shout for an adventure. Head south from Perran Sands to see the Cligga Head Tunnels. This area doubles up as a great one for plane spotters, with the runway of Perranporth Airfield visible in the distance. Combine all these together with the wild beaches of the area and you’ve got yourself some amazing scenery surrounding your second home.
5. Always something on throughout the year
For a scenic and sleepy village, there’s always tons going on in Perranporth. The Watering Hole on the beach is home to a range of events, and there’s a tennis club hosting tournaments when the weather allows.
Hayle’s Paradise Park and JungleBarn Cornwall is a wildlife park that’s brilliant for a visit with the little ones throughout the year and also hosts educational and entertaining events in the calendar often. The historical landmark at Trencorn Hill is owned by the National Trust is a fantastic day out with the extended family or other guests you’ve invited to your van. For something really cultured, Tate St Ives hosts exhibitions throughout the year and ties in nicely with a hop across to the lovely town along the Cornish coast.
